The Bévaux national necropolis contains the remains of soldiers who died for France during the Great War.

This cemetery should have been moved to the Douaumont ossuary. However, because of the bereaved families, the cemetery was finally retained in 1924, then redeveloped in 1967.

This necropolis contains over 3,500 bodies of French soldiers who died between 1914 and 1918, and 485 bodies of French soldiers who died between 1939 and 1945.
